A good business isn't always a well understood business.

We build better businesses.

Strategy · Brand · Digital · Growth

  • The work can be exceptional.
  • The reputation can be real.
  • The people can care deeply.

The work is already there.

But value is judged before the work begins.

02Perception. Where is value won or lost?

Where is value won or lost?

  1. Discovery
  2. First impression
  3. Understanding
  4. Trust
  5. Choice

They find you, or they find someone else.

A judgement is made in seconds, and it is mostly visual.

What you do has to be obvious, not impressive.

Proof does the work that claims cannot.

By now the decision is mostly already made.

Perception is built before the first conversation.

  • PositioningWhat the business is for, and who for.
  • BrandHow that reads at a glance.
  • ExperienceWhat it is like to deal with you.

03The Shift. What changes when the business catches up with its real value?

  1. Strategy

    gives the business direction.
  2. Brand

gives that direction a recognisable form.
  3. Digital

    turns perception into experience.
  4. Growth

    turns experience into action.

One system.

Each part carries the one before it.

04The Opportunity. Who is this for?

A workshop.

A specialist firm.

A hospitality business.

A studio.

A local service business.

Different businesses. Same opportunity.

Seen first

People judge the room long before they judge the service in it.

For example

  • Hotels
  • Restaurants
  • Clinics
  • Studios

Rarely seen

The craft is real, and almost none of it is visible from outside.

For example

  • Workshops
  • Makers
  • Restoration
  • Specialist trades

Hard to see

Expertise has to be legible before anyone can decide to trust it.

For example

  • Consultancies
  • Practices
  • Expert services

The business is usually better than its first impression.

These are examples, not specialisms. Rorvia works across different kinds of ambitious business and is using that range to learn where it creates the strongest outcomes — rather than picking an industry before there is evidence for it.

05The Work

One project at a time.

  • Real work.
  • Real outcomes.
  • More to come.
01

The situation

A working bicycle service and custom paint shop. Skilled, established, with a genuine reputation among the people who had already found it — and the original reason Rorvia exists.

02

The problem

Nothing about the way the business presented itself suggested the standard of the work. Someone deciding whether to hand over a bike they cared about had no way to tell the difference between this workshop and any other, until after they had already chosen.

03

The thinking

This was not a marketing problem. Value was being judged before the work began, so the presentation had to carry the craft rather than describe it. That meant deciding what the business was actually selling — not a repair, but the confidence to hand something over — and building everything back from there.

04

The work

Positioning, brand and digital experience scoped as one piece of work rather than three deliverables. The photography does the arguing; the writing stays out of its way.

05

Where it stands

In progress. There are no results to report yet, and there will not be invented ones — what happens commercially will be documented here once it has actually happened.

06The Principle

We don't make businesses look bigger.

We make their value easier to see.

  1. Strategy before design. We understand the business before we decorate it.
  2. Experience over output.A website is part of a customer's journey, not the end of a project.
  3. One connected system.Brand, digital and growth should reinforce each other.
  4. Real proof. We show real work, and nothing else.

05 / Start

You don't need to know which one you need.

Tell us what's happening in the business.

Every engagement is scoped around the business, not a fixed shopping list.

08Begin. What are you building?

What are you building?

We'd like to understand it.

Before we build anything, we want to understand the business behind it.

The first step is the Rorvia Business Brief.

About ten minutes, and most of it is optional. It replaces the first call — which is usually an hour spent assembling out loud a picture you could give us better in writing.

It gives us the context to understand

  • where the business is today
  • what it sells
  • who it serves
  • what makes it different
  • what is currently holding it back
  • what it wants to become
